Everyone has a story. My story started on April 28, 1996, when, unexpectedly, Jesus appeared to me and touched me! Why would Jesus show Himself to me, a Muslim, when I did not worship Him? I don’t know. All I knew was that when Jesus said to me “Follow Me,” I followed Him with firm conviction. I never looked back. It was then and there that I converted from Islam to Christianity.
My conversion inspired me to write my story, even though English is not my native language. By reading my testimony, you will travel with me through the supernatural conversion and find out how Jesus delivered me. He gave me the courage to come out of the spiritual and emotional dungeon in which I had lived for years. Jesus helped me to remove the many and different masks from my face. He tore down the brick walls behind which I had hidden the broken child within me for decades, and He liberated me to become a thriving woman!
My story is a story of freedom. I Thought I Was Doing Well Until … is far too short compared to the mass of knowledge I learned along my journey that started on April 28, 1996 .
My story is my case for Christ, the foundation of my life and the pillar of my faith.
I divided my story into eight parts, as follows:
He Tried Me, a chronicle of real-life trials—“strikes”—that preceded my conversion.
He Called Me. The call started with the Holy Spirit of God, when He supernaturally transported me to Westminster Chapel to receive Jesus’s calling to follow Him.
He Touched Me. I attended my first prayer meeting at Westminster Chapel—a short prayer with a lifelong effect
He Healed Me. God had a different plan from the doctors’ plans. God won!
He Provided for Me, discussing another divine miracle that paid off my debts.
He Confirmed Me. God confirmed His calling when I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. I include a chapter of events that occurred while I was a child, only to be fulfilled decades later after my conversion.
He Discipled Me, a synthesis of my personal journey of discovering the Trinity, the Godhead. In this section, I reveal how my study of the Bible took me to knowing God as a Father, knowing the divinity of Jesus as God and man, and knowing the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. One of the significant outcomes of my studies is the shifting of my perspective, from seeing life through my own human finite microscopic lens to seeing it through God’s infinite telescopic lens.
He Regenerated Me is a description of how God regenerated me. Like peeling an onion, God peeled off my old self, including the sadness that dwelled within me for decades, and replaced it with the joy of finding true love, His everlasting love.
