Christine De La Plume (French for feather) is my Pen name. I loved this name since I was seven years old.
The background for this name is this:
a) My dad (Rip) had a beautiful collection of quill pens with colorful real natural peacock feathers (Plume in French). The pen tips were gold and nicely arranged in a glass vitrine next to his desk. I always admired those pens and I loved their feel when I held them and pretended to write with them (of course, during my dad's absence in his library). These pens made a lasting and a nostalgic impression on me for many years.
b) My best friend throughout the elementary grades was Marie-Christine B. I loved her name. I repeatedly asked my mother to change my name to Marie-Christine. Page 138 in the book "I Thought I was Doing Well, Until..." gives you the answer to my request.
My pen name Christine De La Plume centered my mind for a long time until now...
